Bangladesh Cricket Team had a pretty good Day 4 where the debutant Zakir Hasan smashed a ton. The left-handed batter looked like he had played 30-odd test matches. The batter was involved in a huge opening partnership of 124 runs along with Najmul Shanto as the duo made the bowlers toil a lot.
Axar Patel was the pick of the bowlers where he took 3 wickets in his 27 overs where he gave away 50 runs. Skipper KL Rahul was quite spot-on with his field placings. It was quite surprising to see Kuldeep Yadav getting whacked as the spinner gave away 69 runs in his 18 overs where he took 1 wicket.
Zakir Hasan’s Conversation With Rahul Dravid & Virat Kohli
Zakir Hasan was seen attending the press conference and revealed the conversation with Virat Kohli & Rahul Dravid. “He (Virat Kohli) congratulated me and I thanked him. Sir (Dravid) told me that I batted really well and then he congratulated me. When a great player and coach like him comes and says those words, it really feels good.” said Zakir Hasan.
Great Fight by Bangladesh
Not many would have thought that the Test Match would go into Day 5 given the way Bangladesh played in the 1st innings. The batters showed a lot of character as Indian bowlers bowled their heart out and were consistently hitting good lines and lengths.
The pacers had to struggle a lot as there was no significant help from the pitch. The speedster Mohammed Siraj astonishingly didn’t reap any rewards for his impeccable bowling. Bangladesh made a statement to the World Cricket that they are not just a team who participates. It’s unlikely that Bangladesh will win the Test Match from here as they need to score another 241 runs with only 4 wicket remaining.
