What message did he want?” Sunil Gavaskar On Virat Kohli

Asia Cup 2022 – After the INDvsPAK match former Indian captain Virat Kohli Attend a press conference where he revealed that M.S. Dhoni was the only person to text him after resigning from Test captaincy.

“Many persons were having my number but it was only MSD who text me after I left the captaincy, some expressed their views on television. When you have strong bonding and genuine respect for each other you are able to see it as there is security from both sides. I was never insecure about him neither he was insecure about me. According to me if by you want to help someone you should reach out to him individually for suggestions instead of doing it in front of the TV or the entire world.

He share his thought when he left captaincy only MS Dhoni called him.

Now Indian former captain raised questions about Virat kohli over his statement,

He says Kohli needs to name those players whom he was expecting to call him, and what kind of message he wants from players when his captaincy is over,

Asked about Kohli’s complaint, Gavaskar told

‘It is very difficult to say who Virat is referring to. If they had taken a name then you can ask the person whether you have contacted him or not. What I have heard is that he is saying that only Mahendra Singh Dhoni called him after leaving the Test captaincy.

Gavaskar Said

If he is talking about former players who have played with him, then we know who comes on TV. He should give the name of the player he is referring to. Ask him, brother didn’t you send any message?’ Gavaskar, however, then said, ‘What message did he want? Encouragement? But he had given up the captaincy so why did he need encouragement? That chapter (captaincy) was already closed.
