Indian Cricket Team was asked to bat first by Bangladesh in the 3rd ODI. Ishan Kishan was the opener as he replaced the injured Rohit Sharma. The dashing batter Shikhar Dhawan once again failed to trouble the scorers as he scored 3 runs. The selection panel would be reconsidering Dhawan’s position at the top.
Ishan Kishan made the most of the opportunity as the left-handed batter notched up 210 runs in 131 balls where he smashed 24 fours and 10 sixes. The batter was in sublime touch as he was whacking the bowlers all around the park. Virat Kohli played a second fiddle and smashed a terrific knock of 113 runs in 91 balls where he smashed 11 fours and 2 sixes.
The run chase never really took off for Bangladesh. Not a single batter smashed a half-century. There were high expectations from Shakib & Rahim to get a big score. The skipper Litton Das’ poor run continued as the responsibility of captaining the side may have affected his natural game.
Bangladesh would be utterly disappointed with their performance as losing the match by 227 runs is quite humiliating. Bangladesh may have won the ODI Series but India has been really competitive throughout the ODI Series.
The way Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli batted, that cost us the game- Litton Das
During the post-match presentation, Litton Das was asked about the match. “The way Ishan and Virat batted, that cost us the game. The way Ishan batted, hats off to him. Our bowlers tried our best but there was no way out on this wicket.” said Litton Das.
They are a good side – Litton Das
“Had we been chasing 330-340, it would have been a different ball game. They are a good side. We played good cricket and will help our confidence.” he added.
