Indian Cricket Team registered a clinical win over Bangladesh. The Men in Blue won the Test Match by 188 runs and had to work very hard for picking up 10 wickets. Cheteshwar Pujara was the stand-out performer who scored 192 runs in the match where in the 2nd innings, he had struck a century.
Bangladesh batters showed a lot of character as batting on the 4th & 5th day is never easy irrespective of the conditions. The openers Zakir Hasan & Najmul Shanto did all the hard work as the duo was involved in a partnership of 124 where they played out 46 overs.
Ajay Jadeja on Cheteshwar Pujara
Ajay Jadeja was seen interacting with Sony Sports and was asked about Cheteshwar Pujara. “Don’t forget he had been dropped two Tests back and was out for a series. The selectors had rejected him and the same selectors got him back. This guy has always shown in his career, right from his under-15 days, that struggle is his name.” said Ajay Jadeja.
“He has had operations on both his knees, it is very difficult after that. This guy kept on doing the difficult tasks and he has so much love for the game that wherever you play him, he doesn’t get out. He is not fond of playing shots but of scoring runs.” he added.
Cheteshwar Pujara an Asset
The right handed batter played an invaluable knock of 92 runs in the 1st innings. It won’t be wrong to say that his knock was one of the main reasons behind the triumph. The peculiarity of his knock was that he was quite keen on rotating the strike which frustrated the bowlers.
Cheteshwar Pujara would be hoping that he continues the good work. As mentioned by Ajay Jadeja, Pujara was dropped and playing a Test Match after a span of 5 months is never easy. It would be interesting to see whether Pujara continues to play aggressively as in the 2nd innings, he had scored his fastest ton.
