RCB Would Love To Break The Shackles; Hopefully RCB’s Turn Is Around The Corner – AB de Villiers

Former South Africa National Cricket Team and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star, AB de Villiers, has said that the RCB would love to break the shackles and end their trophy drought by winning the next edition of the Indian Premier League.

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s trophy cabinet after 15 seasons of the tournament is still empty. They have made it to the final three times in the history of the competition but failed to capture the title. The Faf du Plessis-led side would be looking forward to finally bringing a trophy home in IPL 2023.

Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction, which will be a mini-auction, the Bengaluru-based franchise has retained a majority of its players. RCB will be entering the auction with a purse of INR 8.75 crore.

Speaking in a video shared by Star Sports, AB de Villiers said that once the RCB win their first title, they will get momentum and could win multiple (IPL) championships. He said:

“It’s been how many seasons now? Quite a few, 14 or 15 or whatever. So, they would love to break the shackles. I think if RCB wins this one then, they’ll probably win two, three, four quickly but let’s wait and see what happens, T20 cricket is a bit of a gamble sometimes, anything can happen. Especially knockout games, but hopefully RCB’s turn is around the corner.”
