“One Player Was Ready But…”- Mohammed Kaif On Sanju Samson

Indian Cricket Team suffered a heart-wrenching defeat against England in the Semi-Final match. The Men in Blue were outplayed in all the 3 facets of the match as losing the match by 10 wickets is quite embarrassing. Perhaps, the selection panel missed a trick by not including Sanju Samson in the squad for the tournament.

The team now has a chance to regroup themselves as they are all set to play against New Zealand on 18th November (Friday). This T20I Series would be pivotal for India as there are a lot of senior players who have been rested to manage their workload.

Mohammed Kaif on Sanju Samson

Mohammed Kaif was having an interaction with Sportskeeda and was asked about the future. “Speaking of the future, I think one player was ready, but was still not picked for the World Cup. Sanju Samson was ready for the No.5 position. He has been playing IPL for many years and has been leading Rajasthan Royals (RR) as well. He guided them to the final too this year.” said Kaif.

“Samson played match-winning knocks in West Indies. When 2-3 wickets fall, he comes in and attacks. He has the ability to take on spinners and hit them for fours and sixes. He was ready but was not picked for the World Cup. That was a mistake,”  he added.

Stern Task for India

Skipper Hardik Pandya has a strenuous task on their  hands. The dimensions of the ground may be small as compared to Australia but New Zealand has a quality bowling lineup that can rattle the Indian batting lineup. It would be interesting to see how India fares under Hardik Pandya.

New Zealand Cricket Team would be eyeing revenge as last time in 2020 India had won the T20I Series by 5-0. The Blackcaps have a score to settle as we can expect a fascinating T20I Series even if India has named a second-string squad. Skipper Kane Williamson would be hoping to get a big score as his strike rate has been an issue.
