When Kaif was asked about Kuldeep’s game-changing performance during a conversation on Sony Sports, he replied:

“He needs a senior guy who supports him. He has been through difficult times. He is sensitive and easily hurt. While playing for KKR, he was unable to take advantage of opportunities. After being released, the Delhi Capitals selected him for the IPL, where he performed well with his bowling.”

“Kuldeep Yadav had to improve for sure; he is an extremely class bowler. But when he is down, he needs a guy who puts his arm on his shoulders, whether it is a coach, manager, or a senior player who does that job,” Mohammad Kaif Added.

“Kuldeep Yadav has made a good comeback”: Mohammad Kaif

Mohammad Kaif made the observation that a person’s capacity for a comeback characterizes them.

Kuldeep Yadav’s five-wicket haul in the first innings was praised, and he said: “He has made a good comeback. How you come back is important. There was a phase of two years that went bad; he wasn’t playing Tests regularly and was probably not bowling that well in white ball cricket, and he didn’t get the support also.”

Kuldeep was dismissed from India’s limited-overs team following a lackluster World Cup campaign in 2019. Subsequently, he suffered from form and injury-related problems, and he spent nearly two Indian Premier League seasons on the sidelines with Kolkata Knight Riders. While playing for Delhi Capitals in the IPL this year, the left-arm wrist-spinner turned things around with a few match-winning efforts.
