Bangladesh Cricket Team would be quite happy with their performance. Bangladeshi batters showed a lot of intent as batting on a 4th Day pitch is never easy irrespective of the conditions. Skipper KL Rahul was quite spot-on with his field placings as he made sure that Bangladesh worked hard for every run.
The debutant Zakir Hasan played one of the finest knocks as the left-handed batter smashed a century in 224 balls where he struck 12 fours and 1 six. The batter got ample support from Najmul Shanto as he scored 67 runs in 156 balls where he smashed 7 fours as the duo showed great determination.
Paras Mhambrey on KL Rahul
Paras Mhambrey was seen interacting with reporters and was asked about KL Rahul. “Whenever there in an opportunity in the breaks, we have discussions with the captain. But eventually you go with what he feels on the ground. The captain’s instincts are also important and you need to back those decisions. Credit needs to go to KL Rahul, he rotated the bowlers very well.” said Paras Mhambrey.
“He got the fast bowlers in short bursts when the ball at one stage was reversing, so that was good as well. When he realized that fast bowlers are having longer spells, he got the spinners in and rotated very well. The new ball we took, we got a couple of wickets after that as well. So I think the credit goes to KL, he has rotated he bowlers very well and decisions taken by him were really nice.” he added.
Intriguing Day 5 on Cards
The Men in Blue would be aiming to wrap up the Test Match on the morning session itself rather than giving Bangladesh a chance. Skipper KL Rahul will have to decide what combination he applies as making Kuldeep & Ashwin bowl can be quite productive.
Head Coach Rahul Dravid would be worried as the bowlers have toiled a lot for the wickets; the next Test Match is scheduled on 22nd December which is just after 3 days. It would be interesting to see whether Rohit Sharma is fit and available for the 2nd Test Match.
