Indian Cricket Team registered a convincing win over Bangladesh in the 1st Test Match. The Men in Blue won the match by 188 runs and now have taken a 1-0 lead in the Test Series. Rishabh Pant was quite brilliant behind the wickets as he was involved in one stumping and a terrific catch.
Bangladeshi Tigers would be quite happy with their performance as they made Indian bowlers work hard for every wicket. There was a glimmer of hope present where Shakib was whacking the bowlers all around the park. The left handed batter scored 84 runs in 108 balls where he struck 6 fours and 6 sixes.
Dinesh Karthik on Rishabh Pant
Dinesh Karthik was seen interacting with Cricbuzz and was asked about Rishabh Pant.
“First of all, I think he idolizes MS Dhoni, who would have been very proud of the way he did that stumping. The beauty of it is when the ball is pitched closer, it can be hard for you to react faster because you get the feeling that the batter is going to play a shot,” said Dinesh Karthik.
“But where Pant stood out was that he was ready for the ball to miss the bat and he was already bringing his hands towards the stumps and that’s why it was done at such a quick speed. Generally, as a wicketkeeper, your reaction is to receive the ball,” he added.
Great Win for India
The Men in Blue would be mightily pleased with their performance. The bowlers showed great temperament on a pitch there was uneven bounce and placid. Axar Patel was the pick of the bowlers where he took a 4-wicket haul and gave away 77 runs in his 32.2 overs. The speciality of Axar Patel is that he bowls wicket to wicket and doesn’t give ample room to the bowlers.
Bangladesh would have hoped that the likes of Litton & Rahim would have batted a bit long. A win was quite improbable but Bangladesh made a statement that they are not just a team who participates. It would be interesting to see how Bangladesh responds to the defeat as we can expect a riveting contest.
