Prince of Kolkata Sourav Ganguly praised Jhulan Goswami – India’s most successful blower in women’s cricket by saying him an “absolute legend”.
Veteran pacer is set to play her last One International cricket match on 24 September she will be ending her career on the highest node as she is the leading wickets taker in the history of Women’s cricket.
Jhulan who had represented India for almost 2 decades had an emphatic record in all 3 formats of the game. She is the leading wicket-taker for India with 350 plus dismissals. Honoring her contribution to Indian cricket, the board had decided to give her a farewell game. The third One-Day International against England at Lord’s ‘will be her last appearance in national color’. In her cricketing career spanning over 20 years, she had reached many feet. In 2007 she was ICC women’s player of the year, and from 2008 to 2011 she was captain of the Indian women’s cricket team also in January 2016 she was ranked first in the ICC Women’s ODI bowling rankings.
Sourav Ganguly said “I share a very friendly relationship with her and had lost of discussion with her on improvement on women’s cricket. If my daughter wants to play cricket I wish her to be like Jhulan Goswami but unfortunately, she doesn’t play cricket.”
