Heart-breaking comment by Virat on the painful exit of Team India:

Star batter Virat Kohli wrote a heartfelt note on Friday following India’s elimination in the T20 World Cup semi-finals. Kohli, who leads the tournament scoring charts, averaged 98.66, scoring 296 runs from six matches. Kohli scored his four half-centuries in the tournament, including his 50th against England in the semi-final where India lost by ten wickets to him at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday. Kohli said on Twitter that the players will be going home with a lot of “disappointments” but the team will be able to pick up some positives from the tournament and bounce back strong. We are so close to fulfilling our dream of hitting the Australian coast and we are heartbroken, but as a group, we were able to recapture many memorable moments and look forward to doing better from here on out,”

Kohli tweeted as follows:

Indian opener KL Rahul, who struggled with his racquet at the tournament, also responded to his team’s exit with a “heartbroken” emoji.

Kohli India’s second-highest run-getter also wrote an inspiring note after India’s hopes of reaching the final were dashed by England.

“A tragic loss. I will forever be grateful to the fans for creating such an enthusiastic atmosphere wherever I play. I am forever grateful for the unfailing support that this team and his staff have worked so hard to support us.” I’m proud of you. I am proud to play for my country. We will reflect and come back stronger! Shots of 63 and 50 respectively from Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli gave 6.

England will face Pakistan in the T20 World Cup final on Sunday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
