Police claimed to have got leads in the investigation.
Following the incident, the family of the girl and some of her relatives protested in the area, demanding action against the accused. The matter was resolved when senior police officials assured the family of all possible help and strict action against the guilty.
“We received the body from the police. We are sure that the two persons named in the FIR were involved in the crime. They were jealous of our family,” said the girl’s younger brother.
According to the family, no one except the 18-year-old girl, who was pursuing graduation, was at the home on Thursday morning.
“The family said that on Thursday afternoon when the girl’s younger brother and sister returned home from school, they found the main door of the house open. When they entered the house, they found the semi-clad body of their sister. She had an injury on the back portion of her head from where blood was coming out,” said a police officer.
