Ben Stokes Gives Jofra Archer Warning To Australia Ahead Of Ashes 2023

The much-anticipated Ashes 2023 has already started making headlines. The next year’s Ashes 2023 is expected to be a fascinating contest as Australia hasn’t won a Test Series in England since 2001. Last time in 2019 Australia had squared the series by 2-2 and retained the urn which was quite a great achievement.

England is currently preparing in Abu Dhabi for Pakistan Test Series. England is going to play Test Series in Pakistan after 2005. Recently before the T20 World Cup 2022 England toured Pakistan for a 7 T20I match series in which England won the series by 4-3.

Ben Stokes on Jofra Archer

Skipper Ben Stokes was having an interaction with Sky Sports and was asked about Jofra Archer. “It’s been great to see him out here when we joined up with the Lions. It’s great to see him back running with the ball in his hand. He’s one of the superstars of the international game and it’s great to see him running back in, bowling fast and it’s really good to have him back around the group as well.” said Ben Stokes.

“Hopefully we can have Jofra fit and ready especially for The Ashes. That’s something that we’re looking at for Jof and it would be great to have him available for selection for that.” he added.

Jofra Archer Invaluable

Jofra Archer in the 2019 Ashes took 22 wickets and was quite ruthless. The speedster Jofra Archer has shown immense control over his line and length as his short run-up has been quite productive.  We should not forget that Archer can provide some lusty blows at the back end of the innings which is quite priceless.

Head Coach Brendon McCullum would be keenly monitoring him as the speedster is set to play in the SA20 league. There are some reports suggesting that Archer may play IPL 2023 which would be a concern for ECB as there are chances that he would be exhausted for the  Ashes 2023. It would be interesting to see how he performs as we all know making a comeback after an injury is never easy.
