IPL 2023 Auction: 3 Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Players Mumbai Indians (MI) Can Target. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) IPL 2022 tournament was a replay of their performance in the IPL 2021. Though they managed to win 6 matches out of 14 and amassed 12 points, they still managed to finish in the 8th spot out of 10 teams.
One of the biggest reasons for a dismal season was New Zealand Kane Williamson, who just couldn’t get going throughout the tournament with a strike rate of under 100. Kane Williamson, who struggled with an elbow issue, scored 216 runs in 13 innings at a disappointing average of 19 and an ever poorer strike rate of 93. Their biggest buy-in IPL 2022 auction was West Indies’ Nicholas Pooran for INR 10.75 crores, and then his teammate Romario Shepherd for INR 7.75 Crores.
The IPL franchises have until November 15 to submit the list of retained and released players before the IPL 2023 mini-auction. Mumbai Indians could only win four games out of 14 in the league stage and were the wooden spoon holders in IPL 2022.
Mumbai Indians (MI) had an IPL 2022 season to forget and with only 4 wins from 14 matches, the Rohit Sharma-led side finished at the last spot in the points table. Since there was a mega auction this year, the franchise couldn’t retain the services of the majority of its players and brought in fresh faces.
The likes of Tymal Mills, Jaydev Unadkat, Mayank Markande, and Fabian Allen may be released by the franchise along with misfiring Kieron Pollard and IPL 2022’s biggest buy Ishan Kishan, though the last two may also be retained for IPL 2023.

At 23, Umran Malik had everything you wanted from a fast bowler. A smooth, clean action, and clocking 150 kmph effortlessly which was enough to grab the right eyeballs. The Sunrisers Hyderabad identified their need for speed and retained him on their side along with Kane Williamson & Abdul Samad in IPL 2022. Umran Malik has picked 24 scalps in 17 IPL games averaging 22.5.
Express pacer Umran Malik returned to the Indian squad and will feature in both T20I and ODI series against New Zealand right after T20 World Cup 2022 concludes. The Jammu and Kashmir pacer made his debut for India in the 20-over format. However, he was dropped following an unimpressive show in Indian colors. He did not feature in India’s plans for Asia Cup and T20 World Cup 2022.
